Vladimir Dimitri Kockov hails from the former Soviet Republic of Monrokvia, most famous for its
enormous Lard mines.
Growing up with his parents and seventeen brothers and sisters,
Vladimir never enjoyed the 22 hour shifts he had to endure working in the shafts of natural animal
fat, and his father knew it.
Vladimirs father, Serge, himself the son of the famous
Russian conjurer Kardovski, could see Vladimirs frustration and a plan was hatched.
At the tender age of 12, Serge took his son to a local gypsy
tavern where he began to teach him many of the hustles and gambling cheats hed been taught by
his father as a young boy. Very soon Vladimir was making a good living working the inns and country
fairs as a full-time conman and card-shark. Sadly, however, it was during one of these hustles
that Serge was shot dead by an angry gambler. Haunted by seeing his own father gunned down, Vladimir
vowed hed go straight and make a career as a legitimate magician in The West.
So it was in the winter of 1989 that Vladimir set off for The West,
swapping his beloved moped for a one way ticket on the Trans-Monrokvian-Railway. Not only did he leave
behind his family, but also his blind telepathic fiancé of 3 years, Ivana Vorsightski.
Now a long-term-resident of Barry Island in South
Wales, Vladimir, or Kockov as hes internationally known, performs regularly in the
UK and abroad. Hes still fighting with immigration to get Ivana Welsh citizenship, but to be
honest being telepathic, Ivana knows shes destined to remain working in the local matchstick
company until she falls of a cliff at 10.34 a.m. on January 7th 2036. |
