Ivor Dembina is a London based
Jewish comedian who uses the traditional flavour of Jewish humour to tackle tricky
subjects. His first solo show, Stand Up Jewish Comedy (1994) was a comic critique of his
own life as a Jew brought up in north London. His 2004 show was a comic account of
his visit to Israel and the Palestine entitled 'This is Not a Subject for Comedy', and in
2007 Ivor returned to the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the Laughing Horses Free
Festival with Jewish Comedy Free At last. Whether he's
doing a club set or in solo mode you can expect a mixture of thoughtful routines and top
gags held together by a natural ease with the audience, a quality he's acquired through
his extensive experience as a compere
'Profound but also terribly funny' - The Guardian.
'Ivor's so funny it hurts' - Evening Standard.
'Laugh? I nearly converted' - Crucifixion Times.
A relative newcomer to the UK, Daniel Rigby lifted
the prestigious Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Trophy, beating over 600
other comedians to the title in May 2007, with a sharp, witty and highly observational
set., and since then has already been booked by some of the bigger comedy agencies, and is
performing at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe
Kiwi comedian Kevin McCarron's started performing in
the UK in 1997, and soon established himself as a regular headlining act on the London
Circuit, as well as taking on the role of resident compere for several comedy clubs in the
