In 2004, “Anthology”
received 4 stars from Three Weeks and served up an everchanging banquet of
entertainment ranging from Fringe favourite Earl Okin to top New York political comedian Scott
Blakeman and his acclaimed political roundtable. Last year’s schedule also included
films like Nick Zedd’s Sid and Marty Krofft parody, “Electra Elfand Fluffer”
and Terwilliger Ryan’s Elmo Aardvark. And we can’t neglect to mention
Anthology’s Richard Pryor Award-Winning Ahmed Ahmed.
This year, “Anthology” returns as part of the Free
Fringe and will present, from 6–20 Aug., Andrew J. Lederer’s “Tales”, a comedic storytelling
and reading show which has been a Time Out New York Comedy Pick. Some of the finest
comedians and other performers from across the Fringe will present their scenaristic creations.
The line-up changes daily.
And from 22-27 Aug., New York comedy promoter and producer
Calvin Wynter will present a carefully chosen blend of the best comedians from this year’s
festival.
